Okay, so I am rolling back the change in c158 so that we have enough time to fix this for good. If something goes wrong, we break people's systems. I will also revert the change in Core Update 157, so that people who update won't destroy their systems any more (because once they lose connectivity installing another update becomes tricky). @Michael: Thank you. I just observed I accidentally posted a wrong link initially: It should have been https://community.ipfire.org/t/core-update-157-pppd-tries-to-fetch-an-ipv6-configuration-despite-it-shouldnt-causing-dial-up-connections-to-be-terminated-by-some-isps/5654/11, to link to the corresponding community thread. Sorry. Sorry. Yeah I was quite confused about what that should have meant :) Waiting for test feedback: https://lists.ipfire.org/pipermail/development/2021-July/010794.html A user sitting behind British Telecom reported back, confirming ppp 2.4.9 is working fine with "noipv6": https://community.ipfire.org/t/core-update-157-pppd-tries-to-fetch-an-ipv6-configuration-despite-it-shouldnt-causing-dial-up-connections-to-be-terminated-by-some-isps/5654/15 @Michael: I think we now have the confidence we sought for. Would you mind merging the patchset? Waiting for https://patchwork.ipfire.org/project/ipfire/list/?series=2186 to land in Core Update 160 (or beyond)... - ping - Who are you pinging? You might want to CC Arne on this. (In reply to Michael Tremer from comment #9) > Who are you pinging? You might want to CC Arne on this. Oh, I thought he already was. :-/ @Arne: May I ask you to have a look at https://patchwork.ipfire.org/project/ipfire/list/?series=2186 ? IMHO, this is ready for production now. https://git.ipfire.org/?p=ipfire-2.x.git;a=commit;h=aa45d923ebc396fdbe4a95db3d54457bd55fd20e https://git.ipfire.org/?p=ipfire-2.x.git;a=commit;h=52764dbe7f6439045040ab35719953cf178063b9 |
